They do a Jr. Ranger activity book and badge here for kids, which is awesome. Only $10 entrance fee for the family. Small museum, but perfect for a quick stop on the drive between Capitol Reef and Grand Staircase and small enough that it kept the kids interested. Good variety of artifacts which were all found on site. We thought the ruins were cool.
Pretty cool! It's well worth the money. Lots of interesting artifacts, replicas, etc, and the ruins were interesting to see as well. Kids would definitely enjoy this. The gift shop was alright; there's just a lot of stuff in a compact place. Definitely worth a quick stop!
Loved the history. Well cared for park
Images from the website look far more exciting than the actual museum and gift shop. It wasn't what I expected from reading online...and it wasn't notably marked for directions into the parking lot and where you wanted to go to, so you just pick a door and go for it. I even saw people arrive in the parking lot...wander...and just completely wash the path outside the building. The gift shop is minimally staffed, and while we had questions, we never found someone to answer them. The sites were interesting, but, the area was small. It wasn't horrible but, it didn't meet the level of hype from the online presence.
Great little stop for visitor info and to see some Anasazi ruins in the back. Get out and stretch your legs after the drive! There was a food truck in the parking lot too. Super nice lady at the desk to ask your questions. The ruins are pretty amazing.
